Bhajji challenges South Africans to regain No. 1 spot
2010-02-02 [16:31:03 hrs]
Indian spinning ace Harbhajan Singh set the tone for the home series against South Africa by asserting that the Indians are ready to take on the South Africans, the current number two Test side of the world.

Predicting the series as a tough one, Harbhajan Singh said that India are a very good side and can beat any team in the world.

‘When two good teams play each other, it is always going to be difficult but India have the potential and capability of beating any good team in the world,’ said the daring spinner.

‘We just need to play to our potential to beat the South Africans,’ he added.

When asked to react on South African captain Graeme Smith’s statement that Proteas will beat India, Bhajji retorted, ‘we will see who gets whom on field.’

Mantaining that they respect every opposition, Bhajji suddenly threw a challenge to the South African team to regain their number one spot by beating India, the current number one in Tests.

Commenting on his side’s strength Harbhajan said that India’s strength lay in their depth in every department.
