Teen found murdered in Sodhpur
2010-02-08 [15:42:05 hrs] | | An eighteen year old boy was murdered in the Ghola region of Sodhpur in North 24 Pargannas Sunday night. The owner of a catering business, Pritam Das was on his way home last night when he was attacked and shot dead. The incident triggered widespread agitation in the area, with locals taking to the streets and blocking roads this morning.
Police reached the spot to bring the situation under control, but only further incensed the agitated locals. The latter attacked and vandalized a police vehicle and set it ablaze. They also hurled bricks aimed at police personnel. The police retaliated by conducting a lathicharge and using teargas to disperse the mob.
Additional forces have been brought in to support the police personnel already present at the site. The agitation however, continues.
