Severe loadshedding in all districts 2010-03-09 [16:13:48 hrs]
All districts and Kolkata are experiencing severe load-shedding for the past few days. Some areas have been experiencing power cuts for 2 to 4 hours. Students appearing for the ongoing board examinations have been greatly inconvenienced. The West Bengal Power Development Corporation Ltd has said that that 5200 megawatts of power is required of which they are only being able to provide 2500 megawatts. They cited coal problems to be at the core of the power shortage.
