Class IX student killed in Howrah road mishap

A student of class IX was killed in Howrah today after a bus hit her cycle from behind as she was on her way to school. Pinki Vishwakarma, her brother Sanjay who was riding the cycle and their cousin brother Muntu were on their way to school, when a bus hit their cycle from behind, leaving Pinki dead on the spot. Sanjay sustained injuries and was admitted to a local hospital, while Muntu was released after administering some preliminary first aid.

Angry locals blocked Grand Truck Road for around two hours in protest against the incident. They also attacked a nearby lorry stand and vandalised forty lorries and beat up the lorry drivers. The driver of the bus that killed Pinki however, managed to escape.
